Keep Plants Healthy, Even While You’re Away
New plants require plenty of water that is frequently applied, but many homeowners don’t have the time to water, or are away from home for extended periods of time. Hand watering is needed to help new plants become established, which usually takes 1-2 years. That’s where Shorb can help.
If the new plants are “infilling” an existing landscape that is irrigated, the new plants still require hand watering. The irrigation is set to maintain the existing plants, as opposed to helping establish the new plants. Doing otherwise would drown the existing plants. Once established, the irrigation system should be able to maintain the new plants.
We can either bring in our own water wagons, tank trucks, or use the hose bibs at the property if that is the most economical method.
You can contract with us to hand water your new plants for the entire season, or just for a short time and we will take care of the rest. Our water crews will be scheduled to water your plants on the appropriate intervals, which will be adjusted according to the weather. Remember, overwatering and under-watering are equally harmful to the plants.
The goal of this service is to provide adequate supplemental watering to the plant material while being sensitive to the costs associated with utilizing the additional service.
